Kenmore — F5 Error Code
The F5 error code on your Kenmore washer means the door latch isn't working properly. The machine thinks the door is open, so it won't start. This is usually caused by a broken door latch — a cheap and easy fix you can do yourself.
Whirlpool — F21 Error Code (Long Drain)
The F21 code means your Whirlpool washer is taking too long to drain the water out. Most of the time, something is clogged in the drain filter — like a coin, hair tie, or sock. Cleaning the filter usually fixes this, and most people can do it in under 20 minutes.
Samsung — UE Error Code (Unbalanced Load)
The UE error means your Samsung washer detected an unbalanced load during the spin cycle. The clothes bunched up on one side, so the machine stopped to protect itself. This is almost always fixed by rearranging the laundry — no parts needed.
LG — OE Error Code (Drain Error)
The OE error on your LG washer means the water is not draining out properly. The most common cause is something stuck in the drain pump filter — coins, bobby pins, and small socks are the usual culprits. Cleaning the filter takes about 15 minutes and fixes this problem most of the time.
Maytag — Washer Not Spinning
When your Maytag washer fills with water and agitates but will not spin, the most common cause is a broken lid switch (on top-loaders) or a worn drive belt. The lid switch is a safety device that tells the washer the lid is closed — if it breaks, the washer will not spin. This is a fix most people can handle.
GE — Washer Not Draining
When your GE washer will not drain, the most likely cause is a clog in the drain pump filter or drain hose. Small items like coins, buttons, and hair ties love to get stuck in there. Clearing the clog is quick and easy — no special skills needed.
Whirlpool — Washer Not Agitating
If your Whirlpool top-load washer fills with water but the agitator does not move back and forth, the most common cause is worn agitator dogs — small plastic pieces inside the top of the agitator. They cost about $5 and most people can replace them in under 30 minutes. It is one of the easiest washer repairs there is.
