Won't Charge
A Nintendo Switch that won't charge is most often caused by a dirty USB-C port, a bad cable, or a completely drained battery. The good news is that cleaning the port and trying a different cable fixes it the vast majority of the time. Give it a try before assuming the worst.

Joy-Con Drift
Joy-Con drift — where your character moves on screen even when you're not touching the stick — is one of the most common Nintendo Switch problems. It's caused by dust under the stick or worn-out contacts. A quick cleaning with compressed air fixes it temporarily, and a $5-$12 stick replacement fixes it permanently. This is a very doable repair.
